How Many Are Too Many?

As the population continues to rise at an exponential rate, the global population will turn to 6,000,000,000 (6 billion) by the end of the year.It is expected to continue to rise after that and double at least once again in the 21st century, at which time many scientists believe the world population may actually begin to go down. The question is, will it be in time?

According to Nation Geographic, that answer is no. By the year 2020, there will not be enough food to feed the planet. Waste and pollution will continue to rise with the population, and even as some populations continue to sink, others are still shooting sky high. According to the doubling rate theory, there are more people on the planet now than have ever been on the Earth's surface at any time combined. This means that more people are alive today than have ever died in the entire history of Earth.

To me, that is scary, and if technology continues to rise, then every singe human being will have a large impact on the Earth, and multiply that by 6 billion, or possibly 12 billion, and we have major problems.
